Dr. Georgia Ligda
Doctor Georgia Ligda was born in Athens, Greece and had her medical Degree from the Aristotelio University of Thessaloniki, Greece in 1992. She concluded her specialty in Plastic Surgery in 2002 and started cooperation as a self employed Aesthetic Plastic Surgeon with the private medical clinics ‘IASO’ and ‘LETO’ in Athens.
During her specialization in Plastic Surgery she concluded the experimental stage for her Ph.D. in burn injury, in the Burn Unit of KAT Hospital in Athens. She had her Ph.D. from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 2005.
Her activity in the hair loss and hair transplantation field started in 2008 within her cooperation with the DHI Global Medical Group. During this long term cooperation she specialized in hair transplantation with the FUE method and placement with the use of the implanter and without prior made incisions. She also was the company’s global medical director and the medical director of the VIP Clinic in Lavrio town (SHF Clinic).
Within the same cooperation as the head trainer for the DHI young doctors she wrote medical texts on the hair restoration know-how, which were also used on the electronic training platform addressed to foreign doctors. She was the head trainer in a training program for foreign doctors that took place at the Evgenidio Hospital in Athens.
She used to be a member of the Thessaloniki Medical Association and since 1998 she is member of the Athens Medical Association. She is member of the Hellenic Society of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery since 2004. From 2009 to 2017 she was a Plastic Surgeon Expert at the Athens Court. Since 2018 she is registered in the Register of Physicians of Cyprus with recognition of the specialty and in 2022 she got license to practise medicine in the country. In 2021 she became member of the Irish Medical Council (IMC). She also got registered in the Special Register of Physicians of the region of Messinia in Greece in 2021.
Nowadays as a Plastic Surgeon she is dealing exclusively with the field of hair loss problems and alopecia restoration, performing mainly hair transplantation with the FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) technique and placement without previous scalp incisions.
